Spiritual Wisdom…how we need that.
Our Bible at Proverbs 4:5-7 KJV says “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”
Apart from faith as mentioned at 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 and charity (i.e. love) mentioned at 1 Corinthians 13:13, I believe wisdom is the next precious thing we need. It’s good to have all Spiritual Gifts stated at 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 like the Apostle Paul had them all. But since I believe we are in the “end times” we will at least need wisdom with the correct application via Biblical understanding to survive.
There were many “antichrists” back in the New Testament early days of the Apostles and then the Disciples who came immediately after them. See 1 John 2:18 in the Bible. And today there are even more “antichrists” than back then. What they are doing to make themselves and their corruptible “fake” christian and religious churches look authentic is another matter.
But what bothers me is when the real people of God saved by receiving Salvation from God (not a water base religion from man) start to drift into believing the ever increasing “some truth” from those people. Then we see with our eyes that our real Christians are changing their minds, hearts and lifestyles to become “religious” Church-going people like others. The wisdom to know the difference was not there to be applied. The strong rock-like faith to endure was not there. And now the love of the world is slowly taking over the life of those who are believing the lies of the “antichrists.”
When the “coronavirus” first hit the City of Philadelphia where I live, one of the first things that came to my mind is to watch and see how the true Apostolic People of God or Saints of God will react. As expected, many showed fear, confusion and lack of wisdom in the word of God to apply in times of “trouble.” Many still have not yet shown the kind of faith they need to show in knowing and believing that God is really still in control, even as the “coronavirus” still lingers on in the City, America and the World.
Wisdom is mentioned a lot in the Bible. See https://dailyverses.net/wisdom/kjv for just some of the information. But unless we can live and show wisdom in our Christian walk or life with God, the adverse things of this world will always get the better of us. We are in the end times, I believe, but not yet the “great tribulation” that is to come. See Matthew 24:4-25 KJV.
We as Apostolic Christians filled with the Holy Ghost/Spirit of God and have some of the gifts of the Spirit need to be wise and wiser than this world “principalities” and “powers” are trying to make others believe they are. We need to look to God every time and go back to the word of God consistently for information, instructions, directions and wisdom with the right kind of understanding.
We are not fools or puppets for this world to use and abuse. We are Saints of God under the authority and protection of the one true and living God: Jesus.
