In God’s Hands-Restored!
By Jill Patterson
God is in the restoration business. Furthermore, He seems to delight in this!
In I Samuel 2, we find Hannah’s prayer of thanksgiving after the Lord gave her the child she had long desire.. After Hannah weaned her son, Samuel, she took him to the house of the Lord in Shiloh. In her prayer to God, she says of the Lord:
“He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them” (verse 8).
Hannah credited her Lord for taking the poorly and beggarly to princely and kingly. What a contrast. What a promotion.
God’s restoration process is a complete one. It is also often more than anticipated. It can also be fast. This was true with Joseph and Moses. Within one day, things were dramatically changed in their lives. Joseph went from being falsely accused and imprisoned to being exalted with power and favor of the palace. Moses went from the hidden basket of bulrushes to being claimed by the daughter of the pharaoh.
You, yourself, have your own personal example and testimony of restoration. He lifted us out of the miry clay and set our feet on a rock to stay.
“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings” (Psalm 40:2),
This is a time of restoration, of rejoicing!
In God’s hands, we are strong.
In His hands, we are capable.
In His hands, we are useful.
In His hands, all things are possible.
In His hands, we are more than conquerors.
In His hands, we have a future.
In His hands, we are restored!
